Foundation Privacy Policy

We built Foundation to be as private as possible, while retaining most features of cloud-based services.

Foundation's AI model runs on your Phone. Your conversations, memories, and files are processed and stored on your device. We don't have a server that sees them, and there's no account.

The only time data ever leaves your phone, only for these reasons:

Web searches: When the model looks something up (this is on by default; turn it off in Settings → Capabilities → Web Research), the search text or a page URL goes to DuckDuckGo, Wikipedia, or Wikidata. It can include relevant fragments of your chat.

Model downloads: Choosing a model downloads it from Hugging Face, which sees your IP address and which model you picked. No conversation content is involved.

Weather: If you ask about local weather and approve the one-time prompt, approximate coordinates go to the National Weather Service.

Location context: if you turn on "Use my location" (off by default), a coarse place name is added to what the model sees. Not sent anywhere by us.

Sharing: If you tap Share/Export, you choose where that goes via iOS's normal share sheet.

We don't: run analytics, crash reporting, or ad tracking; require an account; sell your data; or use your conversations to train any model.

Children: Foundation isn't directed at children and collects no data that would reveal anyone's age.

Deleting your data: delete any chat or memory in-app, or delete the app — everything is local, so it's gone immediately. There's nothing on our end to separately delete.
